What does bpp mean?

Bits Per Pixel (BPP) is a measure of the amount of data used to represent each pixel in a digital image.
BPP is the number of bits with which a pixel is represented. A higher BPP value means more bits are used to represent each pixel, allowing for a larger color palette and greater color accuracy.
For example, a 1-bit image can only represent two colors, black and white. A 2-bit image can represent four colors, and so on. An 8-bit image can represent 256 colors, and a 24-bit image can represent over 16 million colors.
