Totable Tornado Observatory (TOTO) was a barrel-shaped tornado observation device fitted with meteorological instruments such as anemometers, pressure sensors, and humidity sensors, along with devices to record the data. It is then placed directly in the path of the tornado where it could, theoretically, record valuable information about the structure of the tornado. Toto is named after the dog from the movie “The Wizard of Oz”.
