What does SMR mean?
Specialized Mobile Radio (SMR) refers to any two-way radio system in which users have access to the multiple channels of the network rather than the limited number of channels of a private mobile radio network. SMR uses automatic radio channel assignments that are allocated as first-come, first-served basis. When users want to initiate a call, they activate the push-to-talk button on the handset, which turn the rato an available channel, and a communication path is established.
