Sulfur Hexafluoride (chemical formula: SF6) or Sulphur Hexafluoride, is a colorless, odorless, non-flammable gas and an excellent electrical insulator.
SF6 is widely used as a gas insulator in electrical equipment, and in medical applications such as ophthalmology.
Note:
SF6 is a greenhouse gas 23,500 times stronger than CO2. To minimize greenhouse gas emissions many are moving to SF₆-free technology.
The full form of SF6 is Sulfur Hexafluoride
