What does SDE mean?

Screen Door Effect (SDE) is a visual artifact of displays, where visible gaps between pixels are seen on an electronic screen, usually when viewed in close proximity.
SDE is a common complaint amongst users of Virtual Reality (VR) headsets characterized by a mesh-like artifact, much like looking through a screen door. The effect is similar to seeing things through the mesh of a screen door, hence the name.
