Signal-to-Noise (S/N) Ratio or Signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) is a measure of the strength of a signal relative to the background noise.
S/N is defined as the ratio of the power of the signal to the power of the noise. In general, the higher the SNR, the better the quality of the signal.
