Reservation Against Cancellation (RAC) is a type of ticket reservation status in the Indian Railway.
RAC passengers will be provided with sitting accommodation initially and get a full berth if more passengers with confirmed tickets cancel their reservations.
RAC ticket allows passengers to board a train and travel, but with no specific berth assigned to them. RAC ticket holders are given accommodation on a shared basis, with half of a berth or seat. If there are cancellations, RAC ticket holders may be allotted a full berth.
