Phlegmasia Cerulea Dolens (PCD) is a severe form of Deep Vein Thrombosis (DVT) that occurs when there is a complete or nearly complete blockage of blood flow in a major vein of an extremity, typically the leg.
Note:
PCD is called painful blue inflammation because the affected limb often exhibits a bluish discoloration due to the severe restriction of blood flow.
