Office of Applied Studies (OAS) is an office within the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA), an agency within the United States Department of Health and Human Services (HHS).
OAS serves as the primary source of national data on the prevalence, treatment, and consequences of drug abuse in the United States. OAS provides the latest available national data on these important areas of interest: 1) alcohol, tobacco, marijuana and other drug abuse, 2) drug-related emergency department episodes and medical examiner cases, and 3) the nation’s substance abuse treatment system.
