Megabit (Mb) is a unit of digital information or data transmission speed. The prefix mega means one million, which is equivalent to 1,000,000 or 106 bits.
Mb is commonly used to measure data transfer rates, such as internet connection speeds or network bandwidth.
Example:
Internet speed of 100 Megabits per second (Mbps).
Note:
MegaByte (MB) and Megabit (Mb) are different:
1 MB = 8 Mb
1 megabyte is equal to 8 megabits.
The capital B represents Byte, and the small b represents bit.
