What does MTP mean?

Metatarsophalangeal (MTP) joints are the joints that connect the metatarsal bones of the foot to the phalanges (toe bones).
MTP joints are located in the forefoot, specifically where the long bones of the foot (metatarsals) articulate with the smaller bones of the toes (phalanges).
There are five metatarsophalangeal joints in each foot, one for each toe.
