Mean Corpuscular Volume (MCV) is a laboratory test that measures the average volume of Red Blood Cells (RBC).
MCV is one of the parameters included in a Complete Blood Count (CBC), which is a common blood test.
The normal range for MCV is 80 to 100 femtoliters (fL).
Note:
Red blood cells carry oxygen from your lungs to the rest of your body.
A femtoliter (fL) is a unit of volume in the metric system, and it is equal to one quadrillionth 10-15 of a liter.
