Low-Power Double-Data-Rate (LPDDR) or Low Power DDR (LPDDR) or Mobile DDR (mDDR), is a type of double data rate synchronous Dynamic Random Access Memory (DRAM) for smart phones, tablets and other portable electronics. The LP stands for Low Power, which means it consumes low power as compared to other standard memory. LPDDR operates at 1.8 volts as opposed to the more traditional 2.5 volts.
