What does LB mean?

Lower Berth (LB) refers to the lower-level sleeping accommodation in a compartment of a train, specifically in sleeper class coaches.
The seat number mentioned as LB on the ticket indicates that the passenger's assigned seat is located at the lower level of the compartment and adjacent to the window.
LB is generally considered more convenient and comfortable than the Upper Berth (UB) because it is easier to access and does not require climbing up and down.

Note:
LB serves a dual purpose. At nighttime, when passengers are ready to sleep, the LB transforms into a sleeping bed for one passenger. During the daytime, when passengers are not sleeping, the LB acts as a seating arrangement.
