Kinetic Energy Recovery System (KERS) is an automotive system that stores energy when the vehicle is braking and returns it when accelerating. It is a type of regenerative braking system that works by converting the energy of motion in to electrical energy when the car decelerates, which is then stored in a battery or supercapacitor. Later the stored entery is used under acceleration to gain in kinetic energy.
