.ISO is an uncompressed disk image file format use to make the complete image of an optical disk, which can be used for making copies of original media. The name ISO is taken from the ISO 9660 file system for optical disc media published by the International Organization for Standardization (ISO).
ISO image format is created by copying an entire disc, from sector 0 to the end, into a file contains the data contents of every written sector of an optical disc, including the optical disc file system.
