Integrated Starter Generator (ISG) is an automotive start-stop system. It combines the conventional starter motor and alternator (generator) into a single machine.
ISG can work both as a starter motor and generator. IGS produces electric power when the vehicle is running, which is used to supply electric devices and/or to charge the battery. It also provides savings in the form of lower fuel consumption and a reduction in emissions.
