Indian Seasonal Energy Efficiency Ratio (ISEER) is a rating system for air conditioners in India.
ISEER is calculated by taking the total amount of heat that an air conditioner can remove from a room in a year and dividing it by the total amount of energy that the air conditioner consumes in a year. It takes into consideration the cooling capacity of the air conditioner and the total power consumption over an entire cooling season, which includes different load conditions and ambient temperatures.
ISEER rating is a number between 1 and 5, with higher numbers indicating greater energy efficiency.
ISEER was introduced by the Bureau of Energy Efficiency (BEE) to promote energy efficiency in the country.
