Investigational New Drug (IND) is a request to the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) for the right to conduct a clinical trial of an investigational drug in humans.
IND designed to protect the safety of human subjects involved in clinical trials. It also provides comprehensive information about the drug, its chemistry, manufacturing, preclinical data, and any available safety and efficacy data, as well as the proposed clinical trial protocols.
