Hematocrit (Hct) is a measure of the proportion of Red Blood Cells (RBC) to the total volume of blood.
Hct is usually expressed as a percentage of the total blood volume.
Hct test is a blood test that measures the percentage of red blood cells in the blood.
Note:
Red Blood Cells (RBC) carry oxygen throughout your body, so a hematocrit test can help determine if you have anemia, which is a condition in which you don't have enough red blood cells or hemoglobin.
