Hue, Saturation, and Lightness (HSL) is a method for describing colors. Developed in the 1970s for computer graphics applications.
Hue — the color type such as red, blue, or yellow. Hue is measured in degrees of the color circle ranging from 0 to 360 (red = 0°; green = 120°; blue = 240°).
Saturation — variation of the color depending on the lightness (Ranges from 0 to 100%).
Lightness — the relative degree of black or white mixed with a given hue. Ranges from 0 to 100% (from black to white).
