High Pressure Mercury Vapour Lamp (HPMVL)is a high intensity discharge lamp in which the major portion of the light is produced by radiation from mercury operating at a partial pressure in excess of 100 kPa. HHPMVL consists of a quartz mercury vapour discharge tube encased in a glass bulb coated internally with a fluorescent phosphor which converts the UV radiation emitted by the tube into visible light.
The full form of HPMVL is High Pressure Mercury Vapour Lamp
