Guided Soft Target (GST) is a pilotable target that looks like another car to the test vehicle.
GST is a controllable soft vehicle target on a self-propelled Global Positioning System (GPS) guided platform that is aerodynamically stable yet can separate into lightweight parts on impact, avoiding damage to the test vehicle. Upon impact, the target foam body of the GST separates into lightweight parts, avoiding damage to the vehicle under test and allowing quick reassembly between test runs.
GST is designed to enable high-speed collisions to be carried out without causing damage to the test vehicle.
The full form of GST is Guided Soft Target
