Fiber To The X (FTTx or FTTX) is a collective term for various optical fiber delivery technologies that are categorized according to where the optical fiber data transmission (delivery) terminates. The “X” in FTTX indicates the termination location of the fiber. So the “X” could stand for Home, Premises, Building, Node, Curb or Cabinet.
