Federal Insecticide, Fungicide, and Rodenticide Act (FIFRA) is the Federal statute that governs the registration, distribution, sale, and use of pesticides in the United States. FIFRA gives the United States Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and the appropriate environmental agencies of the respective states to regulate the registration, distribution, sale and use of pesticides in the United States.
