EOS (Electro-Optical System) is a series of digital SLR cameras from Canon. The most prominent feature of the EOS line is automatic focus or autofocus which is executed by a motor drive in the Lens unit, thus communication between camera and lens being completely electronic. The acronym EOS was originally chosen for Eos, the Greek goddess of light.
