Dual Modular Redundancy (DMR) is a fault-tolerance method where components of a system are duplicated and work in parallel, providing redundancy in case one should fail.
The idea behind DMR is to have two separate modules perform the same function, and then compare their outputs. If the outputs are the same, the system is considered to be working properly. However, if the outputs are different, the system is considered to have failed, and a backup module is activated to take over the function.
