Glomerular Filtration Rate (GFR, French: Débit de Filtration Glomérulaire, DFG) is a parameter used to study the functioning state of the kidneys. It is the volume of fluid filtered by the kidney per unit time. The value of the glomerular filtration rate is correlated with the functioning of the glomeruli, which represent the functional units of the kidney.
