Dense Deposit Disease (DDD), also known as membranoproliferative glomerulonephritis type II (MPGN II), is a rare kidney disorder characterized by dense deposits of a protein called C3 building up in the glomeruli, damaging their function.
DDD is an autoimmune disease where the body's immune system attacks the glomeruli, tiny filters in the kidneys responsible for removing waste from the blood.
