What does CTG mean?

Cardiotocography (CTG) is a medical test that measures both the fetal heart rate (FHR) and uterine contractions simultaneously.
During CTG, two sensors are placed on the mother's abdomen: one to monitor the fetal heart rate and the other to monitor uterine contractions. The fetal heart rate sensor uses ultrasound to detect the fetal heart rate, while the uterine contraction sensor measures the frequency and duration of contractions.
CTG is typically performed during the third trimester of pregnancy to assess the well-being of the fetus.

Note:
FHR is the rate at which the fetal heart beats, usually expressed in beats per minute (bpm).
Uterine contractions are rhythmic and periodic muscular movements of the uterus that occur during pregnancy, labor, and delivery.
