Central Limit Order Book (CLOB) was a proposed centralized database for all limit orders received by specialists and market makers throughout the United States.
CLOB was proposed by the United States Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) in 2000, but it never occurred because most exchanges believe that such a database would cause them to lose trading volume.
