Community Health Officer (CHO) or Mid Level Health Provider (MLHP) is a trained health care provider who has a defined scope of practice.
CHO receives pre-service training at a higher education institution and the scope of practice includes being able to diagnose, manage and treat illness, disease, and impairments, prescribe medicines, as well as engage in preventive and promotive care.
