Chlorofluorocarbon (CFC) is any of various halocarbon compounds consisting of carbon, hydrogen, chlorine, and fluorine. CFC was once used widely as aerosol propellants and refrigerants. Chlorofluorocarbons are believed to cause depletion of the atmospheric ozone layer.
