Common Emitter (CE) refers to a configuration used in a Bipolar Junction Transistor (BJT).
In CE configuration, the emitter terminal of the transistor is common to both the input and output sides of the circuit. The input signal is applied between the base and emitter terminals, while the output signal is taken between the collector and emitter terminals.
Note:
BJT is a three-terminal semiconductor device that can amplify or switch electronic signals.
