BrahMos is a short-range supersonic cruise missile that can be launched from ships, submarines, aircraft or land. It was jointly developed by the Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) of India and Military Industrial Consortium NPO Mashinostroyenia of Russia. The name BrahMos comes from the name of the rivers, Brahmaputra of India and the Moskva of Russia.
