Big Mac Index (BMI) is an index created by The Economist magazine that is used to measure the Purchasing Power Parity (PPP) across different countries, using the price of a Big Mac as the benchmark. Big Mac Index takes its name from the Big Mac, a hamburger sold at McDonald’s restaurants.
