What does BCE mean?

Before Common Era (BCE) or Before the Common Era (BCE), also known as Before Current Era (BCE), is a system for numbering years that serves as a secular and religiously neutral alternative to the term Before Christ (BC). It is used to refer to the years before the birth of Jesus Christ.
The use of BCE is intended to accommodate individuals from different cultural, religious, and historical backgrounds who may not adhere to the Christian faith.

Note:
The terms Before Common Era (BCE) and the Common Era (CE), are exactly the same as Before Christ (BC) and Anno Domini (AD) respectively.
