What does APU mean?
Auxiliary Power Unit (APU) is a device on an aircraft that act as an auxiliary power supply that powers the electrical systems of an aircraft. APU is a generators that works usually on a small turbine engine and provide an additional source of electrical power in the event of an engine generator failure. It can also be use to power on-board systems as well as a source of bleed air for air conditioning.
