What does AOP mean?

Aspect-Oriented Programming (AOP) is a programming paradigm that modularizes the crosscutting concerns into units called aspects and separates them from the modules implementing the primary business logic. This leads to a system that is easier to understand and simpler to maintain.

Note:
Business logic is the part of the program that handles the exchange of information between the end-user application and a database.
