Androgen Deprivation Therapy (ADT) is an antihormone therapy used for treating prostate cancer by lower the levels of androgens made in the testicles.
Prostate cancer cells usually require androgen hormones, such as testosterone, to grow. Slowing the production of testosterone may slow the growth of prostate cancer.
